Why We’re All About Hormones
Hi all you wonderful readers!
I’m so excited to be sharing with you that we’re making a bit of a shift towards hormones- in our conversations, information and what we’re publishing.
Why hormones?
Hormones affect our ENTIRE body- and run so much of our every day functionality (mood, sex hormones, metabolism, blood sugar, kidney health, sleep, and so much more). They really are directly related to our overall health, and this is much of the work that I do with my private clients, so I want to shift much of our conversation to hormones- just to keep it all in line.
What are hormones?
Hormones are chemical messengers in the body that are created in the endocrine glands, and they control and affect our most major bodily functions- including metabolism, reproduction, mood, blood sugar, metabolism, sleep, and more.
Some of the most common hormones you may recognize include:
- Cortisol
- Estrogen
- Progesterone
- TSH- thyroid stimulating hormone
- T3 (thyroid)
- T4 (thyroid)
- Insulin
- Melatonin
- Vitamin D (YES! It’s a hormone)
- … there are so many more
Why does the way we live affect our hormones?
Our hormones are so sensitive. Our hormones are also so affected by the way we live, the what we eat, the how we sleep, and we’ve seen so much benefit in the practice from having clients make changes that have positively affected their hormones, that we’re shifting there in our conversation.
We’ve already got a bunch of posts on here all about hormones, check them out:
