Fall Recipes for you

Fall recipes for you

We find cooking and baking during the fall to be so fun and tasty with so much seasonal, nutrient-dense, and flavorful produce. To make things easier for you, we have compiled a whole bunch of delicious and nutritious recipes (broken down by meal) from our website that features in-season fall produce.

Why do I care? And what’s in season?

Before we jump into it let’s recap why you should eat in season and what’s in season this fall. To put it simply, eating in season is better for your health, tastes better, is environmentally friendly, and is cheaper.

Fruits in season include apples, figs, grapes, pears, and pomegranate. Veggies in season include arugula, beets, broccoli, brussels, butternut squash, carrots, cauliflower, cabbage, celery, eggplant,  parsnips, potatoes, garlic, mushrooms, turnips, and zucchini. Lastly, commonly used fall spices include allspice, cardamom, cinnamon, cloves, ginger, nutmeg, pumpkin spice, and saffron.

To read about the health benefits of these foods, as well as which ones are low-histamine and low-fodmap, check out this blog post!

THE BOTTOM LINE

While pumpkin is the treasure of fall, don’t let it overshadow all of the other fresh produce that fall has to offer. These recipes are all nutrient-dense and in my opinion delicious – so be sure to give them a try!
